Father of her children lives on the streets of Lawrence. Her son knows all about it, they may go try to find him. “You can only do so much, says Pandelena. “I’ll never stop trying though. Eventually, hopefully, it will click.” Why volunteer? “Just show up and give them something to smile about tonight.” She was an addict (what drug? Don’t have in notes), had kids taken away 7 years ago after daughter was born. She used while pregnant and DCFS took kids in hospital. Sobered up after that.
Son Giovanni, “I did’t think volunteering was going to be so much fun.” Speaks of being removed from mother after sister was born “I knew she was always there for me.”

A photo of Alexis Beamud, who died 8/12/25 of an overdose, with son some 20 yeras ago while in prison. Daughter Desteny Morales, 27, who is not his biological daughter, spoke of visiting him in prison for 15 years from the age of 3 or 4. Had great relationship with him when he came out. He’d text her everyday but didn’t hear from him for 2 weeks. She did not know he was on the street until she saw a tik tok video from Mass and Cass. She went to find him, he died a week later. Planning a 90s throwback dinner for 1st anniversary of his death.

Gina Deveau, 42, has been living on the streets of Lawrence for 6 years. She says of Michael Gorman, “He goes above and beyond for us when no one else cares. They give us love when we need it.
